Your Bill
Thank you for being a MRWD water customer. We value your business and appreciate the confidence you place in us as your water provider. Included here is a copy of a bill. This will show, highlighted in yellow, the most important parts of your bill. That way you have an understanding of usage, the amount due & where to find your account number.
Payments
Payments must be in the form of check, money orders or cash. We do not accept debit or credit card payments at this time. We do accept and encourage Automatic Payment Drafts (see attached form and instructions). Payments must be received in our office by the 15th of each month to avoid a late fee. Please include the bill stub from the bottom portion of your bill with your payment. If you do not have your bill, please include your name, account# and address with your payment. Payments can be made several ways:
- Our drive thru window is staffed Monday thru Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- A drop box is available 24/7 at our office building. Please include the bill stub or account number with your payment.
- Automatic Bank Draft
- Mail your payment along with the bill stub to the following address:
Mitford Rural Water District
P.O. Box 208
Great Falls, SC 29055
Returned Payments
Payments are returned for various reasons.
The two most common reasons are:
- Insufficient Funds
- Closed or Invalid Accounts
Returned payments are subject to a $35 NSF fee in addition to the balance of your bill.
Returned payments must be paid in the office by cash or money order only.
Billing & Disconnection
All customers are billed once a month. The bill should be received approximately the same time each month.
The bill due date is the 15th of the month. If payment is not received on the 15th, a $10 late fee will be assessed.
A "delinquent notice" will not be sent.
If outstanding balance is not received before the 26th of the month, you are subject to be disconnected. Once disconnected, a $100 reconnection fee will be required before water service is reconnected.
IF the water service has been turned on without permission, and the customer has failed to pay the full outstanding balance, the water meter will be removed. The customer will be charged a $250 Illegal Tampering Fee.
Account Disconnection
Most accounts are disconnected for one of two reasons:
- Customer Request
- Non-Payment
Requested disconnections will be done at the earliest convenience of our maintenance crews.
Accounts disconnected for non-payment must be paid in full before water service is restored.
